some really good points in this post from the NY Times blog and some analysis on Amazon’s Audible acquisition. I didn’t know the audibook industry was $923 million a year. I especially like the ending thoughts.

Paid Content has one of the best articles on this - Audible, founded in 1997 by Donald Katz, and its subsidiary Audible.co.UK offer almost 200,000 hours of audio content from more than 520 content partners sold either a la carte or, more typically, through a monthly or annual subscription membership plan. This is actually really cool

Turn the Amazon Kindle into a GPS navigator.
I’d already posted the Kindle hacks from the IgorS blog. Anyways here’s some more details -
The Kindle seems to have location-awareness in the CDMA module. You can plot your current location on Google Maps when you are in Browser Mode by pressing Alt -1 . The other shortcuts are:

i think this is really important since one thing that I really love to carry around is a Journal to take down notes and ideas. There was a REALLY good idea on the Forums i.e.

Update courtesy Richard (comment below): I just bought a PQI 8 GB SDHC card and the Kindle recognized it without a problem. I’ve tranferred books to it and they work perfectly.
Customer Support - confirmed that 4GB SD cards have been tested.
